Humanity will never be able to get rid of stereotypes completely. It is important to be able to use them and conform to your status. Everyone has a status in society. On its basis people have respect or, conversely, disrespect.
Remember that everyone thinks they know people well, which means they won't be ready for an unexpected response or behavior that doesn't match your status.
