President William Ruto has once again ruled out talks with Azimio La Umoja leader Raila Odinga under the current circumstances, hours before opposition supporters begin their anti-government match.

Ruto says that while he is ready to engage any leader, he will not engage those giving him ultimatums, in reference to the former Prime Minister.

He has stated that talks must be in a structured and legal manner, which he has said is contrary to the route Raila and his camp have taken.

Ruto has announced that he is not ready to reward impunity by engaging people out to achieve their goals through unconstitutional ways.

"I'm ready to engage with any leader if we are discussing the future of our country in a constitutional, legal manner. But I'm not going to engage in anarchy, you are not going to threaten us with ultimatums and chaos," he is quoted by The Star.

The Head of State made the remarks at a thanksgiving service at Kapsabet Showground in Nandi County on Sunday.

He made the remarks while giving an order to the police to deal with demonstrators who will try to disrupt peace in the city tomorrow.

Ruto noted that the police are under orders to protect everybody, including those not interested in the protests, and ensure that business is not disrupted.

"Our police women and men are professional people. They are going to ensure that the right of everybody is protected. The rights of those who want to protest and those who want to go about their lives uninterrupted," he added.

But Raila and his brigade have urged Kenyans not to worry, saying that what they are planning are peaceful demonstrations which will not be marred with cases of chaos and property destruction or looting
