You should also change the name of your network. This is also called the service set identifier or SSID. Change it to something unique and avoid using any information that someone can easily guess such as your birthday or apartment number. Your IT support can create something complex for you. Changing your SSID will not prevent hacks. It will only keep strangers from discovering the owner of your network.
