ok ok fr fr i always think so hard about other peoples emotions that i get confused halfway through and in school i make a 2-3 page analysis on how 2+2 is 4 and i try to teach my friends algebra but my mind is overloaded because every night my mind is thinking of 200 ways to start off my day (because the average human being has 200 thoughts every seconds so i must have 3600 thoughts because there are 3600 seconds in an hour oops i forgot to multiply that by 200 that issssss 72000 ll #Palcity

"Come on Jasper. Sit down and have lunch with us or I'm not going to eat this." Carly threatened.
Jasper surrendered and sat down. He glanced at Raina who's eyes is glued to her food. He feels strange that she's not glaring at him or nagging him. Raina still felt really embarrassed, she refused to look at him. She wanted to slap herself for acting so stupid and losing her confidence in front of him.
They had lunch in silence except for Carly who was occasionally saying something. Jasper helped them clear the plates after they are through. Raina could not eat much due to how embarrassed she felt. She also thinks it's strange that Jasper is suddenly doing all this without complaining.
"Guys I have to go out for a while. I'll be right back." Carly said going out.
She left Jasper and Raina alone in the house. There was an awkward silence from both parties for a while. Raina decided to break the silence by asking him a question she has been thinking about since she woke up.
"Why did you save me?" She asked.
Jasper was taken aback by the sudden question. But he kept calm and gave her a simple answer.
"Because you're my boss and my duty is to protect you from danger."
Raina scoffed, "You and I know you don't see as that. And also, wouldn't it have been easier for you to get rid of me finally?"
Jasper knew she has started being arrogant again. So he decided to play along with her.
"You're still my boss. And I'm yet to collect my salary from you yet. How can I let you die without having a taste of my hard work?" He said making her glare at him.
"Don't you dare touch me next time and don't try kissing me again." She warned him.
"Who tried to kiss you? What I did was go bring you back to life, you might have been gone now if I had not done that. You should be grateful to me not the other way round." He fired back.
"You must be happy seeing that I almost died. I don't know why you're pretending to like me or be a good employee because of my health. You can't fool me, so drop the act."
Jasper did not understand why she's trying to pick a fight with him because he helped her. He sincerely wanted to make her lunch, and also he did everything out of his own will. Yet she proved to be ungrateful, picking a fight with him because he kissed her.
"You're so annoying Raina." He said to provoke her more by calling her first name.
Raina's anger rose and she matched towards him. He smirked innocently.
"What did you just call me?" She asked in a our voice.
"Calm down Miss Williams. Your face is so red. You might need to check yourself in the mirror." Jasper said further.
"You're overstepping your boundaries you jerk! I don't need you to look after me or help anymore. So you can go to hell, I don't care." She stomped into the bedroom after that.
Jasper shook his head and headed out of the house. He went back to stay in the car. He decided to put a call through to Bella to see how she's doing. He felt guilty for not even calling her since, she must be really mad at him.
The phone rang for a long time before she finally picked up. Bella had gone back home after seeing Jasper. She was unhappy that she met Jasper and he came with someone else. Her dislike for Raina increased. She hated Raina so much she plans to destroy her for taking what belongs to her.
Jasper was the only man who made her feel happy and good. He used to have time for her, but all that has changed in the few days he met Raina.
She picked up his call, though she never expected him to call.
"Jasper." She called in a low voice.
"How are you doing Bella?" She asked him.
Just then, a message popped up on her laptop. She checked the message and all her strength drained out. Her face flushed and became very pale.
A picture of Jasper kissing Raina who is lying on the floor. She had bribed someone to follow and keep a close watch on them. She also saw the other pictures where he carried her in his arms. Her jaw tightened in anger.
"Bella? Are you still there?" She heard Jasper's voice.
She hung up unable to say anything. It hurts so much. Tears welled up in her eyes, she wanted Jasper for herself. She did not want to see him with any woman, especially not Raina Williams. She felt like Raina is succeeding in seducing him and taking him away from her. She then wiped her tears with a bow to get back at Raina. She's going to take Jasper back at all costs. It's high time she starts showing Raina her face.
Jasper on the other side had no idea why the line suddenly went dead and she hung up. He tried calling her again but it wasn't reachable.
"I wonder what went wrong." He said still trying the number.
He decided to try it later on. He saw Raina come out of the house. She walked to the beach, he felt a bit bad for her. When he remembers what Carly told him, he can't help but feel she's an innocent soul who is trying so hard to hide her pain. He got out of the car and followed her. He did not go close to her but watched her from a distance.
She kept walking like she was thinking about something. He continued to follow her as she walked around the beach. She suddenly stopped like she's seen something. He followed the direction of her eyes and frowned.
"What the fuck!" He yelled and rushed to the scene.
Some guy was abusing Carly. He was pulling her hair and treating her badly. That made him so angry, he stomped over and pulled the guy away from her. Before the guy could say anything, he already landed a huge punch on his face. A fight broke out between them attracting the attention of other people at the beach. #palscity

Chapter fifteen
Raina got up feeling much better. She didn't see Carly in the house, she knows Carly might be outside. She sat up on the couch, she didn't really feel weak or dizzy like before. Carly suddenly came inside, she smiled on seeing Raina awake.
"Thank God you've decided to come back to life. I was scared for a moment thinking something really bad has happened to you." Carly lamented sitting beside her and hugging her tight.
"Carly you're going to really choke me to death if you don't stop now." Raina said.
Carly released her with a slight frown, "You're still as grumpy as you are. Now I feel like I made a bad decision when I asked Jasper to save you."
Raina's body went numb at the mention of Jasper. She felt her cheeks burn in embarrassment. The thought of having Jasper save her life made her unable to face him. She remembered what happened to her in the water. She got leg cramps and could not swim any longer. So she tried to move, but she kept sinking and drowning. That's all she remembers until Jasper carried her to the house.
"How did he find me? And what did he do to save me?" She asked weird but curious questions.
"You're saying you don't know you drowned? I actually came out of the water and called him for help. He got into the water without hesitation and saved you, he had to kiss you-"
"Stop." Raina cut in. "Did you say he kissed me?"
"Yes duh. You were not responding, that was the only way to do it. Would you have preferred that I do it? Eeew I'm not a lesbian okay? He even went all the way to make you a special soup with the best recipes from the best doctors and this is your way of thanking him. Don't be ungrateful Raina. You better behave yourself." Carly scolded and walked out.
Raina got the blanket off herself. She went to the bathroom and had a long bath. Then she got something else to wear from her bag. She came back to the living room and heard laughter coming from the kitchen.
She also perceived a sweet aroma, her stomach suddenly grumbled. She was hungry, she walked into the kitchen to see who Carly was talking to. The last she remembers, Carly doesn't like cooking much.
She got to the kitchen and met a strange surprise. Carly wasn't the one cooking. It's actually Jasper. They were both laughing while Jasper cooked, he was wearing an apron too. He looked so manly, she lost herself staring at him for a moment. Then she wondered how they got the ingredients to cook so fast. She walked out of the kitchen quietly.
She kept wondering why Jasper was in her kitchen cooking. Yeah, the beach house belonged to her but Carla or her sister Freida are the ones who mostly uses it. She stayed in the living room thinking of what to do, the laughter in the kitchen suddenly made her uncomfortable. Even though the person in question is her friend, she felt a bit envious. He gets along with Carla so well but always fights when it comes to her.
She heard footsteps coming her way, she pretended to be on the phone. She assumed they did not notice her presence in the kitchen the other time. She recognized the familiar perfume to be her friends own.
"Hey Raina. Since you're done now, join us for lunch. Jasper made lunch especially for us. But I think it's mostly because of you." Carly said.
"Why would he make lunch because of me? Did I do anything to deserve that?" Raina asked confused.
"Well he feels bad because of what happened to you. He keeps blaming himself for being unable to protect you and being incompetent with his job. So he thought about making us lunch, and trust me he's a great cook. You're gonna love his food." Carly emphasized.
Raina was not getting why Jasper would blame himself for something that's not even his fault. She went into the water herself, she drowned because of her leg cramp. Why is he making up for something he did not do? She suddenly felt uncomfortable, she didn't want to see him.
But Carly dragged her to the dining table, "Come on Raina. Let's go have lunch and stop thinking about it. This is a great opportunity."
Carly dragged her to the dining table where Jasper was setting the table. He already finished setting the table and bringing out all the food. Jasper had not been able to see or talk to Raina since he saved her life. He did feel her presence in the kitchen earlier but decided to ignore it since she left.
Raina avoided eye contact with him, she feels stupid for acting strange all of a sudden. Now he's someone she can't even face? How great is that?
"Hmmm... This is going to be so good. Raina you need to taste this." Carly nudged her.
Raina looked at Jasper who's gaze if fixed intently on her.
"Umm... Thanks for your help." She managed to say.
Jasper smiled genuinely at her for the first time, "I'm only doing my job Miss Williams."
He served the two women their food and dropped the utensils ready to leave.
"I'll be taking my leave now. I'm outside if you need me." He said but Carly stopped him.
"Where are you going? Aren't you going to have lunch with us?" Carly asked glaring at Raina to say something.
"There's no need-"
"You should also have lunch with us. You prepared this food so you deserve to eat at least." Raina cut him off.
Carly rolled her eyes, Raina won't even say it in a pleasant way. She should better try and convince him instead.
