No matter how intelligent and skilled your employees are, if they lack confidence, they will continuously doubt their potential.

I have seen people in leadership positions take full advantage of someone’s insecurities for their own twisted agendas. It’s very disheartening, and I can only imagine what that person is feeling inside. Leadership is such a tremendous responsibility because you have the influence to help someone become the very best version of themselves and, in the process, make a profound impact on their life.

Why would anyone take this for granted, especially when you are dealing with people?

Building confidence, mentoring, and coaching takes time and energy. Still, it’s worth it, and if you can help somebody build their self-esteem and build their confidence, it will pay dividends for the person and the organization.

One of the hallmark traits of great leaders is their ability to build great teams with the expertise to help the organization achieve its vision and, in the process, fulfilled its purpose. In addition, these leaders have the wisdom to give their team the freedom to produce great work because it makes no sense to recruit the best and micromanaging their work.

It's counterproductive; it will affect your team's morale and, in the process, create a very dysfunctional place to work. When you have a great group of people passionate, inspired, and motivated to make a difference, give them the freedom to work and create an environment that allows them to become the very best version of themselves.

When leaders recognize that they don't have to be the smartest person in the room, these companies consistently pull off innovative or heroic feats in business because so many of the people who work there are given the freedom to make it happen.
