The President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta has been under pressure to name his successor come next year when Kenya will take to the polls in August of 2022.
This morning, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has chosen who he will like to take over from him when he leaves office next year after serving for ten years as the Governor of Mombasa County.
The Governor has seen Mvita Member of Parliament, Abdulswamad Sharrif Nasir as the preffered candidate to take over the job of being the man at the helm of things to do with the county of Mombasa.
It will be interesting to see how other politicians who are eyeing the governor's position in Mombasa will take this latest development from Mombasa.
